In Rakhine State’s Gwa Township, an artillery shell exploded near a tower close to the cemetery in Satthwa Village, injuring a civilian husband and wife, according to a local resident who spoke to the Arakha Times.

“Around 6 p.m., an artillery shell hit near the tower by the cemetery in Satthwa Village. A civilian husband and wife were injured. The man was hit in the back, while the woman was hit in the leg,” the resident said.

On November 14, the military council destroyed Satthwa Bridge with explosives and withdrew their troops to Kanthayar.

Reports indicate that military council troops retreated from Satthwa Village to Kanthayar following offensives by the Arakan Army. Artillery units stationed in Kanthayar also withdrew toward Gwa Town.

Local residents reported that after the military council troops retreated from Satthwa Village, indiscriminate artillery shelling occurred in the area.
