A junta convoy en route to the Western Regional Military Command (WRMC) headquarters in Ann, Rakhine State, was ambushed, resulting in nine fatalities and around ten injuries, according to a statement released today by the People’s Revolutionary Alliance (PRA – Magway).

The ambush occurred on November 20 at around 4 p.m., approximately 1,000 meters east of Gote Gyi Village in Ngaphe Township, Magway Region. Reports indicate the convoy comprised around 40 personnel, including troops from the No. 905 Artillery Battalion and military trainees.

The PRA – Magway stated that the attack was part of a preemptive operation aimed at disrupting junta control over the Ann-Padan Road. This route is strategically significant, connecting Rakhine State with Magway Region.

On November 5, three resistance groups jointly attacked two junta outposts along the same Ann-Padan route, reportedly killing about ten soldiers.
