Toungok, Rakhine State The military council launched airstrikes on a village tract in Toungok Township on the evening of December 1, killing two internally displaced persons (IDPs) and injuring at least 20 others.

“The deceased were IDPs from Toungok Township, while the injured included local residents. The injuries are severe, and many houses were almost completely destroyed,” a local resident told Arakha Times.

The victims of the bombing were identified as Maung Kyaw Thet Naing, 17, and Daw Ma Thein, 71, both refugees from Toungok.

The airstrikes reportedly began shortly before 4 p.m. and continued for an extended period. “They started bombing just before 4 p.m. I’m not sure if it was four or five hits, but the strikes were relentless,” the resident added.

The Arakan Army, which captured Toungok Township on November 24, is continuing its offensive against remaining military council strongholds, including the headquarters of the Sa Ka Kha (5) and its subordinate battalions, Kha Ma Ra 346th and 544th, which operate under the 5th Division.

In Rakhine State, the junta’s aerial bombings have caused significant casualties. In September alone, 93 people were killed and 66 injured. October saw similar devastation, with air strikes occurring almost daily.

During the week of October 7–13, the military council conducted air raids in multiple townships, including Toungok, Pauktaw, Gwa, Kyauktaw, and Ann. These bombings resulted in 18 civilian deaths and left 32 others injured.
