One Resident of Taungup Dies Due to Junta Landmine

It is reported that one local resident of Taungup Township, Rakhine State, died due to a junta landmine.

On the afternoon of June 26th, a landmine planted by the military council exploded, severely injuring U Thein Win, a 45-year-old resident of Aung Chan Thar 1 street, Thein Taung ward, Taungup Township.

“ The injury was quite severe, and he passed away while receiving medical treatment the next day. Yesterday, he was buried,” a local resident of Taungup told Arakha Times.

It is reported that U Thein Win, 45 years old, who lived in Aung Chan Thar 1st Street, Thein Daung Ward, Taungup Township, died due to a landmine planted by the military council.

U Thein Win died after stepping on a landmine planted by the military council while working on a levee in his field near the retirement home on the Taungup-Pan Taung road.

The military council, which is suffering military defeats, has planted many landmines in the territories it has lost.

The Arakan Army has been continuously clearing landmines planted by the military council on a daily basis, and has cleared more than 2,000 landmines in Thandwe and Gwa townships.

Similarly, the Arakan Army is also conducting mine clearance operations, war remnant ordnance risk education discussions, erecting mine warning signs, and distributing leaflets in the liberated areas of Rakhine State.
