Resistance Forces Attack Two Military Outposts on Ann-Padan Road: Approximately 10 Junta Troops were Killed

Arakha Times (November 8, 2024)

On November 5, a coordinated attack by three resistance groups targeted two military council outposts along the Ann-Padan road, connecting Rakhine State and Magway Region. The People’s Revolutionary Alliance (PRA-Magway), the Ashichin Defense Force (ACDF), and Battalion 2 of the Minbu District joined forces to strike the outposts located near Got Gyi village at Bonbo Junction and Milepost 11. The assault reportedly resulted in the death of around 10 soldiers from the military council. The assault began at approximately 11 a.m., targeting the military outposts near Gote Kyi Village at Bonbaw Junction and the Milepost 11 checkpoint. According to reports, the resistance forces inflicted significant casualties, with junta troops evacuating injured personnel via car and motorcycle along the old Natt Yekan road.

However, due to crossfire from junta reinforcements and artillery attacks from the Natt Yekan air defense base, the resistance groups ultimately withdrew from the area.

The PRA-Magway, ACDF, and Minbu District Battalion released a joint statement affirming their military objective to secure control over the Ann-Padan Road. This area is part of a broader strategic plan aimed at establishing dominance over the western Irrawaddy region, with coordinated efforts planned across multiple conflict zones to expand their control over key military sectors.
